Healthy Choice All Natural Entries

I am ready to lose the baby weight.   OK, the weight I already had even before I got pregnant.   That is one reason I chose to apply to review the new Healthy Choice meals.   I have liked some of their selections in the past, so I wanted to try their new meals. They sent me two of their meals from the All Natural Selections line, which features all natural ingredients and vegetarian choices.   I tried the Roasted Red Pepper Marinara, which I really liked and the Tortellini Primavera Parmesan, which I didn’t.   The Tortellini is made with whole wheat pasta, and I could tell the difference in taste.   Normally I don’t mind whole wheat, but for some reason this meal didn’t appeal to me.   I did really like the Red Pepper Marinara’s taste.   I think with their meals, once you find the ones you like, just stick with those.

I like to buy Healthy Choice for a couple of reasons.   They have a big selection and variety to choose from.   It is easy to keep track of calories, and fat and if you are on weight watcher’s they have the points on the box.   Their website http://www.healthychoice.com/ has a page with coupons and a newsletter where you can keep up with new products and future coupons.   There is a coupon for their new ice cream right now, so that is next on my grocery list.

Banquet Thanks A Million

I will admit that I don’t cook made from scratch meals every day. Okay, I don’t even cook four days a week.   We do eat a lot of frozen food because it is easy and fast in our hectic schedule. We will grab frozen dinners to eat once in a while and have bought Banquet meals for several reasons. They taste great and are a good price. Banquet offers a wide selection too.  Our family favorite is the chicken nuggets and the family size Lasagna.  I was happy when they started making bigger meals to serve the whole family.  I wanted to let you know that I learned Banquet is giving away one million dollars worth of cash prizes all of this month and through April.  Just look for the Instant Win Game logo on the top of the boxes.  I posted a picture below for you to see what it look like.  The packages will have a special game peice that will be worth anywhere from ten to one hundred thousand dollars.  How cool is that!  You may also win a coupon.  The program is called “Thanks a Million” and you can click here to find more details and and official rules.

Fedex Office now has their own blog because finding cool ideas for projects and entertaining can prove challenging even if you are the most creative of moms. Whether you want to plan a baby shower for a friend or colleague or find a fun rainy-day activity for your kids, the new Out of Office blog from FedEx Office will get you started with projects for everything from invitations and place cards to tips on how to turn your child’s artwork into a notebook, large poster, or thank you notes. In the future, the blog will feature contests and giveaways, themed series, how-to videos, and the creative insights of guest bloggers and customers. The blog has several sections of tips and articles including a home and business helper sections. The current topic is organizing for the new year and there are some good ideas. I plan to use several of the templates for chores and organization.  There are some great ones and they are free!  The Fedex Office blog would be a good website to check out and maybe add to your Google reader this year.

Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta Blog Tour

We had a chance to try Ronzoni’s new pasta thanks to mom central. It looks and tastes like regular white pasta, but Ronzoni Smart Taste contains added calcium and fiber, helping kids get their daily recommended value of both nutrients while still enjoying a favorite food. Other benefits for the whole family include lower calories and fat than traditional white pasta, and no sodium, preservatives or cholesterol.  The kids couldn’t tell the difference from other white pasta we have used in the past and I thought the taste was just as good. I love to find products that help me and my family eat healthy. Visit www.RonzoniSmartTaste.com to find out more information.

Ronzoni knows our frustration as Moms and the lengths we will go to feed our kids healthier foods. A new survey they conducted shows that that more than half of Moms of kids aged 3-12 find it challenging to feed healthy foods to their kids. So in addition to their line of pasta, they created a funny, spoof video featuring the Smart Taste Supermom:

Fruit Loops with fiber review

Fruit Loops has always been a hot commodity in our household, especially with our five year old son. We are sometimes concerned about the nutritional value of sugars that are a bit higher in sugar content. A great new advantage with Fruit is that now you can get Fruit Loops with fiber. Similar Apple Jacks, which is even more popular with us, has Apple Jacks with fiber.

There is growing interest in fiber rich diets for people of all ages as research continues to suggest fiber is one of the most important and least utilized nutritional elements of a diet.

So does something have to taste bad just because it is better for you? This is definitely not the case with Fruit Loops with fiber and Apple Jacks with fiber. Our son didn’t notice a difference and he has eaten the Fruit Loops every day for over a week. We have eaten the Apple Jacks as a snack and it doesn’t miss a beat either.

If you want a cereal that will satisfy the taste buds of the most discerning breakfast eater while offering added nutritional value, Fruit Loops with fiber and Apple Jacks with fiber may be for you!

According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer within her lifetime; that’s 12 percent of all women who will be personally impacted by the disease. This Spark is to raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer. When participating in Yoplait’s Save Lids to Save Lives® program, you too can make a difference.

How Can You Help Contribute to the Cause?
In September and October, Yoplait makes it easy for people to participate in the fight against breast cancer by saving and mailing in their pink lids from Yoplait yogurt cups. infant

With our new baby coming any day now, I was excited to hear about this new website from Mom Central.  A new website, InfantNutritionCenter.com,will take us Moms on a unique and powerful visual journey through infant nutrition and development, with amazing visuals that reveal how proper nutrition shapes development and how individual nutrients affect the senses, bone formation, and the immune system of infants. Showcasing new data and 3-D images, the site lets you explore and learn the latest research findings through video, pictures, and graphics, in depth questions like why infant eyesight depends on getting enough DHA and what key nutrients contribute to the healthy growth of your child’s brain.

Developed as a resource for Moms, the website brings together information from leading health centers and researchers across the country to explain how nutrition is crucial to infant development. How can you make sure that your newborn gets the nutrients she needs to ensure healthy growth through her first birthday? How do you keep her stomach from getting upset? What should you, as an expectant Mom, eat to ensure that you stay healthy as your infant grows? What vitamins do you need if you’re breastfeeding to ensure that you’re passing along the right nutrients to your infant? I really enjoyed browsing through the videos and I’m recommending new moms check it out.

Frigidaire has announced Jennifer Garner as their new celebrity ambassador! Thursday, Sept 24th Jennifer introduced Frigidaire’s new line of appliances, designed with features that help us Moms save time in our busy schedules, and challenged us to pledge a bit of our own time to help children in need. Frigidaire’s new “Make Time for CHANGE” campaign supports Save the Children’s U.S. Programs, dedicated to making a difference in children’s lives.

Frigidaire and Garner are asking Moms to think ahead to November 1st – the day all of us change the clocks and get an extra hour – and pledge to use that time to help make a difference in the lives of children. Save the Children created the CHANGE program (Creating Healthy, Active, and Nurturing Growing-up Environments) to promote healthier lifestyles for children living in poverty by providing nutritious snacks and regular opportunities for them to be physically active.

Starting today, everyone who goes to Frigidaire and raises her hand with a pledge to make time for a child, will commit Frigidaire to donate $1 to support the CHANGE. As an added bonus, everyone who pledges her time will be entered for a chance to win a new Frigidaire Professional double wall oven. Click on that link and tell us about your pledge and how you would give back your time to children in need. Mom Central will pick one lucky winner in a random drawing from all entries received. Thanks Frigidaire and Mom Central!

Wendy’s New Boneless Chicken Wings

August 10, 2009 by Tracy

wendywingsOn many summer nights where we’ve lingered longer than anticipated at the pool or soccer fields, fast food offers up a treat in which my kids delight. And I have to admit that breaks from cooking (and especially cleaning up) deeply appeal to me and my husband! For these quick-stop meals, Wendy’s has come up with a summer alternative to the usual burger fare, adding restaurant-style boneless chicken wings to their summer menu, along with hearty salads and chicken sandwiches.

Wendy’s new boneless chicken wings, made with 100% whole chicken breast, get hand tossed in one of three sophisticated flavors: Bold Buffalo, Honey BBQ, and Sweet & Spicy Asian Chicken. They have the delicious taste of boneless wings you get in a sit-down restaurant, and, paired with a side salad, offer a great fast food alternative for us Moms!  We were able to try them, thanks to mom central.  I am a big Wendy’s fan and the chicken was delicious.  My favorite is the Honey BBQ.  I would recommend them to all of you.  You can visit www.wendys.com for more information.

vail_postWhen thinking about summer getaways, it often seems impossible to find a destination that offers adventures and activities to thrill each member of our families. Vail Resorts has come up with an ingenious solution, drawing on the majestic national parks and forests of the West to transform their village at Keystone Mountain into a family base from which daily adventure trips take place. Set in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, the Epic Summer Family Adventure offers families an action-packed getaway with four or seven-day itineraries.

Each day your family has an exciting fun-packed day ahead, from hiking up cool mountain trails, going white water rafting, zip lining, trail horseback riding, exploring National Parks, and adventure biking to attending a real cowboy campfire dinner under the stars. Best yet, all of the details have been taken care of for you, from transportation to guides to picnic lunches, adding up to the ultimate outdoor family experience. Moreover, back at home base other options await: Dad can hit the golf course while we Moms sneak off for some wondrous spa services.

With everything from meals to outdoor trips covered, all you have to do is show up with sneakers, a bathing suit, and a sense of adventure! Plus, the all-inclusive pricing proves surprisingly affordable. What better way to create lifelong memories than a vacation where the only thing you have to think about is how much fun you’re having.  Visit www.epicsummer.com for more information.
