Let’s Celebrate Being Different

Lainey Dee   Illustrated by:  Dhiraj Navlakhi

The world is made up of all kinds of people and animals. Let’s Celebrate Being Different by Lainey Dee and Dhiraj Navlakhi  is a children’s picture book about Todd, a very special animal and yet a different type Let’s Celebrate Being Differentof birds animal.  Todd goes to visit his grandmother who is a bird.  Todd also has a special collection that he shares with his grandmother.  On his visit to his grandmother’s house, she plans to take him to the Friday Night Club and make some new friends.  Todd learns a lot about themself.  He has one question – Why does he look so different? Todd goes to the club and learns many things and guess what.

Let’s Celebrate Being Different

is a perfect children’s book all about diversity from how one looks to what makes a family.  How friends of all kinds can make you feel about yourself.  Todd is a homeschooler and feels shy around others, but he also has interests that he can share with others.  This could lead to a discussion about interests and hobbies that one might have.  This story could also lead to a discussion about various cultures when Todd describes himself and what makes him special.  The pictures that are drawn by Dhiraj Navlakhi are vivid with the bright colors that he chose to portray Todd and all the characters of the story along with all the other details from Todd’s grandmothers’ garden to the club.  The pictures were well-defined and to me, ppicture-perfectthat young readers will like to look at in the book.  This is a fun read for being an eBook and filled with many lessons to learn.
