Berkley has written a story that starts out as a normal courtroom saga, but it is actually a spiritual story.  Do you believe in yourself and do you believe in God and how he helps us all find our ways in living our lives.  In Defense of Guilt is a story of a lawyer by the name of Lauren Hill, who has many decisions to make personally and professionally.

This is a story that references many biblical verses, and the ones that struck me in reading this story are on pages 84, 110, 111, and a reference on page 180 that as being in ‘My Kingdom’ as the Kingdom of God.  Lauren learns how to observe and listen to what is said as well as observing body language.  ‘In Defense of Guilt’ is a story of what guilt really means in and out of the courtroom. It is a book that could be used as a supplemental reading in a sociology, psychology or maybe even as an ethics class. It is also a book that covers the various aspects of dealing with mental and physical living.

‘In Defense of Guilt’ is a story that will make the reader realize that God does help in many ways even by looking like us and not making judgements before all the facts were and will be heard. A very excellent read for anyone from High School upperclassmen to graduate school.
