TOMMY CRITCHMOUSE

        and the

         SNOTGOBLINS

                                                       Judith Tyson

Things are not always what they seem and in Critchley village, the residents are the kindest people you could wish to meet, it is always better to be kind and help.  This is a story for children but is good for all ages.  ‘Tommy Critchmouse and the Snotgloblins’ written by Judith Tyson is a children’s story picture book about a tiny mouse who created a town and goes in search of whoever is wreaking havoc around the town.  Tommy learns who is doing the wrong things even though Snotgloblinswith a purpose.  It all starts when Tommy went out for a walk and some of his friends and neighbors were out noticing how various things of theirs were ruined, and that there was green slimy stuff over everything around the areas in question.  Tommy then entered the forest outside of town and learned who was causing these issues.  Judith Tyson in a short children’s story picture book teaches in one respect how important good hygiene is for the young and old.  ‘Tommy Critchmouse and the Snotgloblins’ also teach young children what one must do to be a good helper in various ways and to try whatever you want to do.  The illustrations in this story were beautifully vivid and very descriptive and went along with the words on the opposite page.  The pictures and words were in sync with each other in other words.  I also liked the names of the characters of the story from Tommy Critchmouse to Mrs. Goodsberry, Freddie Bloomflush, and Mrs.Bloomflush who notices the issue with the snot goblins and gives each of them something only a mother would give, and Mr. Elmhurst whose names all seem to fit each of the characters.
