Bubba and Squirt’s

       Sheild of Athena

Sherry Ellis Always ready for more Bubba and Squirt adventures.  Sherry Ellis has written a middle grade novel entitled ‘Bubba and Squirt’s Shield of Athena’ which is a continuation of her (their) last novel.  This story has Bubba and Squirt headed to Greece where they learn how to solve various riddles in order to save their dad who was captured in the last book.Sherry Ellis has written a story that is fast paced and quite descriptive.  Readers will be able to visualize what Greece looks like in a mystical way.  Teachers could use this book to create lessons in vocabulary, spelling, math, history, geography and even cooking in a way for Sherry offers at the end of the story recipes for Baklava and Greek meatballs.  In using this and her other Bubba and Squirt novels would be good books to read at the end of the school day to settle students down before going home.  ‘Bubba and Squirt’s Shield of Athena could also introduce Greek mythology lessons for students and teachers as well.  Cannot wait for the next installment of the Bubba and Squirt adventures.
