Book Review; Oh Boy Summer! by Diahann Darwood Illustrated by Niaren Binford

oh boy its summerWell it may be time to start Carving those pumpkins, rake up those leaves, cover the pool.Yep Summer’s over.Lets check out a cute little book called Oh Boy Summer! The first in a series of Children’s books about what’s so special about the different season’s of the year. Diahann Darwood (our author)shows us through a child’s eyes what makes summer great and fun. Once again written in the rhyming style I like so much. What’s interesting here is the way she ends each page with a question to the reader (or Listener). I think Teachers will like this book. After reading all about the fun summer can be it has some really thought provoking question’s about the sun and how different animals cope with the heat. You know all that stuff we learn when we are kids. She also offers idea’s on projects the class or child can do like tracking weather and a few other things to have fun with. All in all it’s a great idea for a book and to get kids thinking about the seasons. Can’t wait to see what happens in Autumn,Spring and Winter…

This sounds like a cute interesting book that a couple of my grandchildren would love. I have a couple of birthdays coming up and this would make such a wonderful birthday present.
