Now that school is out and the sun is mostly shining, you are probably look for some fun activities to encourage your children to be active and to play outside and enjoy nature.Thankfully, Backyard Safari Outfitters offers parents an opportunity to load up with all the essential field gear they could possibly need for scoping out local “wildlife,” from insects in the grass to birds in the sky to frogs in a pond — and more! Kids can choose from a broad array of fun gear and tools, including the practical and very snappy looking Cargo Vest, as well as the cool Bug Vacuum, Mega View Periscope – among dozens of other choices.
Our family had an opportunity review three cool items from the Backyard Safari Outfitters line thanks to the company, including the Cargo Vest (which retails for $19.99), the Mega View Periscope (retails for $24.99) and the Bug Vacuum (retails for $19.99). These are all intended for ages five and up.
All of these items made for a cool adventure set which is a perfect fit for our adventurous six year old who is always looking for new ways to play. His favorite, easily, was the bug vacuum, which he immediately put to use sucking up the bugs in every nook and cranny of the yard and driveway that he could find.
The Cargo Vest also works well for us as he loves vest and enjoys wearing various play vests around home for fun. The periscope is a great idea and a fun concept, but this was the product we struggled with a bit in terms of practical use. We could easily extend the periscope and it was fun to look through, but when held upright, the periscope sometimes collapses (returns to unextended form) on its own.
Overall, he has enjoyed playing with the three Safari products we had a chance to try and he would certainly be glad to play with some more in the future. Backyard Safari Outfitters products are generally available at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com and Target. Visit Summit Toys to learn more.
