Courageous gryphon riders make a last stand against an ancient darkness in this all-new YA fantasy trilogy.
A read that reminds me of the series ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and others of that genre. ‘Windsworn’ Gryphon Riders Book One is the first in a series. Derek Alan Siddoway has written a juvenile/young adult novel that even adults would want to read. A story of Soot, Andor, Eva, and the plight of all they knew of their land. This is a story of many friendships. This is the volume of the beginning of a great battle. The main character of Eva must do what she does not do well-change and her secrets of self.
In reading this story it is a well-written descriptive story that reminds me of as mentioned earlier ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy and even at some points of the ‘Narnia Chronicles’ with how the characters are developed throughout the book. ‘Windsworn’ is a story that is full of elaborate scenery that puts the reader into the action for I could see what the characters were doing very well. Book one is a story that lets the reader to start to wonder what is going to happen with an issue about the gryphons and looking forward to the end of the book to see what happens.
Derek Alan Siddoway is an author who will have the reader want to learn more about mythology and this era in history. A well-detailed novel that can promote learning. Teachers could use this series as a language arts discussion project. This is also a definite five star read.
If you like epic battles, magical creatures, and heartfelt coming-of-age adventures, then you’ll love Derek Alan Siddoway’s action-packed tale.
