If you have not heard of the Unicorn Children’s Foundation it was  created to affect worldwide change through the coordination of efforts among parents, professionals and policy makers, such that every child with any communication or learning disorder, of any severity, is given the greatest opportunity to reach his or her fullest potential.

Unicorn Children’s Foundation is dedicated to helping children and young adults with special needs excel in their communities. We Connect the community to resources, Advocate for inclusive opportunities, Respect differences, Empower individuals and Support success.

One of our programs is a character development program, “Creating Compassionate Children,” which is a curriculum designed for pre-school and elementary school classrooms and is intended to help break down stereotypes and stigmas associated with special needs that may result in isolation and bullying. The toolkit includes the book “Exceptionally Good Friends: Building Relationships with Autism” by Melissa K. Burkhardt M.S.Ed.,BCBA (winner of 2013 Mom’s choice Award and the 2015 Autism Society’s Temple Grandin Literary Work of the Year).
