Ana
The Woman in White *sighs* SUCH a fantastic book! I second that 100%. You don’t hear people talking about this book a lot but it is such a classic and one of the first proper mystery novels ever.

Ana and Amanda, I’ve moved it up my list now! Amanda, I really liked your review! Thanks for sharing it! Tracy

*Suite Francaise* is an incredible set of novellas. The backstory about the author, Irene Nemirovsky, is amazing. She was a successful published author and had to leave Paris during the German occupation. The stories tell the tale of the people who left (in a fictional format); she wrote them at the same time she was experiencing this herself. The books were found by her daughters many years later. The appendices contain letters and other documents that make it even more compelling.
Other favorites include *The Secret Garden* and *The Very Hungry Caterpillar* :*
Yes, this is a great idea for a reading challenge!

The Yearling recommended by Lois Lowry. I’ve got that one sitting on my bookshelf. Of course, I have always intended to read it but life gets in the way.
