We have been regular McDonald’s Coffee drinkers for about three years or so… well before there was a “McCafe”. We started with the iced flavored coffees. Then, when McDonald’s did introduce its full McCafe menu, we tested some of the other drinks. I particularly enjoy the Mocha Frappe, but find the calories to be a bit much for routine drinks (more of a treat). Still, we routinely get the iced coffees.
A few weeks ago, McDonald’s added a new drink to its lineup with Real Fruit Smoothies – currently available in Strawberry Banana and Wild Berry flavors.
Typically, I grab a McDonald’s iced coffee on my way to work most mornings. It is more routine now than anything as the caffeine seems to lose affect after a short while. I wasted no time grabbing a Wild Berry Smoothie after seeing the sign in the drive thru. Interestingly, the drink was so refreshing and energizing that (seriously) I felt more vibrant that morning than normal.
The Real Fruit Smoothies are very tasty and I like the fact that it is only 250 calories for the smaller size. I get the large, but you get the point!
McCafé Real Fruit Smoothies Coupons
To celebrate the launch of McCafé Real Fruit Smoothies, McDonald’s made available a coupon for $1 off the purchase of any size McCafé Real Fruit Smoothie or Frappé by visiting http://www.mcdonalds.com/realfruitsmoothies. The coupon was available on site between July 13 and July 26, and is valid at any participating McDonald’s in the U.S. through August 15. If you weren’t able to get one, I have seen some large drinks that have peel away $1 off coupons and there have been several Free, or reduced drink coupons in our Sunday paper and local flyers.
More about the McCafé Real Fruit Smoothies
McCafé Real Fruit Smoothies are made with an invigorating blend of real fruit – combinations of strawberries and bananas or blueberries, strawberries and blackberries – fruit juice, low-fat yogurt and blended with ice. They can be customized by requesting the beverage with or without out low-fat yogurt.
Disclosure: We received a $10 Arch Card from McDonald’s to try the Smoothies. However, we had already purchased them before that and all opinions are our own.
