She bakes cookies and sells them at the family farm stand and they become popular, but before that, she has to figure something out about them to make them special.
Kathleen shows and tells with the help of Ramona the quite realistic pictures of the kitchen and the farm stand and the surroundings around them for this makes it fun for young readers to pick up and look at or read. The bold black print of the words makes it easy for the teacher and the children to read for all who read the story. All the characters are identifiable, and the readers will enjoy meeting each one. It could also be one where maybe a special treat could be offered to the children after reading the story for there is a recipe offered at the end of the book and she tells how she started ‘Tate’s Bake Shop’.

About the Creators
Kathleen King is the founder of TATE’S BAKE SHOP®, a multimillion-dollar cookie company, named after her beloved father. Tate’s best-selling cookie is, of course, its Chocolate Chip Cookie. Many famous people have called Tate’s the best chocolate chip cookie in the world! Kathleen is also the author of Baking for Friends and The TATE’S BAKE SHOP® Cookbook. This is her first book for children.
Lowey Bundy Sichol is an award-winning children’s author. She is a leading expert in teaching business and entrepreneurship to kids. Her various work has won: Junior Library Guild Gold Selection, 2020 Best Children’s Book Council book, 2020 International Literacy Association Book, 2020-2021 Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, among many more.
