Unique Career Opportunities the Bachelor of Psychological Science Offers

If you are soon looking forward to your High School Graduation and are looking for a challenging career, consider the Bachelor of Psychological Science as your choice of degree. There are many great careers waiting, and with that in mind, here are just a few professions you could follow with a Bachelor of Psychological Science degree.

Studying the science of the mind and how it works can open many doors in the field of psychology, with positions such as psychologist or psychologistic counsellor, being just two. Prisons require experts who can help inmates with specific issues, while courts often require psychological reports prior to sentencing, which is very interesting and challenging work. The first two years of the course would be learning the theories of this science, then you would have choices, depending on the career you are seeking.

Sports Psychologist

Sometimes top sportspeople require some help due to issues with the mind and this type of counselling can be the difference between winning and losing, and if you are interested in sports, you can combine this with the study of the mind and how it behaves under certain situations.

Forensic Psychologist

This is a very interesting and demanding field of psychology, as you would be studying crime scenes and carrying out essential tests to determine evidence for the law courts, which would involve helping to convict criminals and assisting in the acquittal of innocent parties.

Psychology Board of Australia

Any student that wishes to become a registered Psychologist and work in Australia must complete a 56-year period of studying and working in the field, and once you are registered, there are many options open to you. If you enroll for this year in JCU’s Bachelor of Psychological Science, it won’t be long before you will be a qualified psychologist who can then choose a specialist field for further study and research.

Occupational Psychologist

This would involve helping people who have suffered traumatic events to get back to work, or learn a completely new job, due to a change in their condition, which might be physical or psychological. There is a lot of satisfaction, for example, in helping a person to use an artificial limb, which would be a typical assignment for an occupational psychologist, or you might have to help a person deal with the realities of blindness or deafness.

Sourcing the Right University

There are, of course, quite a few Australian universities that offer the Bachelor of Psychological Science degree program, and they can all be found with a Google search, plus you could discuss the matter with your school counsellor, who would know of the best institutions for that degree. Once you have made a shortlist, you can visit several of the nearest universities to get a feel of how things are, then you are in a position to make an informed decision.

If you are the kind of person who likes helping people and you are very interested in human behaviour, this could be the perfect Bachelor Degree program for you.
