Being a big fan of the great Dr Seuss and his writing style and silly stories I was immediately attracted to The Legend of Wally Gonkers. I was sure the author R.R. Howroar was influenced by the legendary Dr Seuss and when I checked him out well - I guess the picture says it all.
Written in the silly rhyming style the author brings us (Not quite Seuss Level but then that would be impossible right?)The story of one Wally Gonkers. Or ...
Wally the Gonk
He Konked with the Greatest of Konkers
He Bonked in the Valley of Konk
A Gonk who Bonked with a Konk. You ask?
Just how could this be so?
Sit back listen to this, young friend.
It's something you need to know.
Now do is this really something you need to know? Well of course not. But does it look like a fun book? Sure it does. So if you really feel the need to learn everything you ever wanted to know about the Vally of Konk or what the heck it means to BONK! Then I suggest you check out this cute little book. It's a short little book less than 30 pages. This is a story adults will enjoy reading to children with its funny and witty prose and certainly fun to listen to.Some of the wording might be a little tough for very young readers but they will get through it with a little help With an excellent message for kids of not giving up no matter how long it takes to achieve that hard fought goal. The Illustration by Tiffany England are fantastic and perfectly match the theme of the story. If there really is a valley of KONK I think she captured it in her drawings.
