This is truly a picture book of love for children and adults. ‘Somebody to Love The Story of Valerie June’s Sweet Little Baby Banjolele is a picture book created by Valerie June and Marcela Avelar. This is her story of how Valerie learned all about her special friend ‘Baby’ the little banjolele. Valerie is a singer, but her little 
banjolele seemed not to be able to keep up with a whole song. Valerie and her family thought that maybe if they took Baby to hear other instruments it would help. Not sure what to do Baby sat in a corner as time went by. One night Valerie heard something from the corner and what a surprise she got at the end of the story.

created this book for anyone who likes music and stories. These two creators created a story of musical sounds that blended their emotions of words, music, and art all together. The color scheme they chose with pink, blue, green, yellow, and teal on selected pages helped set the mood. I liked the song the little banjolele sang ‘Somebody to Love’. It is a song to make you feel not as lonely. After the story ended they shared pages that included some sketches of famous people, facts about the banjolele, some inspirational proverbs, and on the very last page of the book their mission statement.
The end pages of the book with the colors blue and white flowing with musical notes is a great way of introducing the book and ending the book. I feel that this book teaches that one must believe in oneself to accomplish what one wants to do
