Rubicon, the new show on the AMC channel, is about mystery and conspiracy theories. The main character, Will Travers, is an analyst who discovers one and just how dangerous it may be. I like the mystery of these types of shows that don’t solve the problem in one hour.
Lately there have been a lot of mysterious and interesting news about Russian Spy’s and conspiracy stories about the oil spill. History has shown us that these type of stories are popular, so the media and writers keep finding angles to keep it in the news. The most famous conspiracy theory is who killed JFK. I used to believe everything that was in the news was the absolute truth. As I got older I realized that the media will spin stories to make them more interesting, or not give all of the facts.
I found Rubicon interesting to watch because it doesn’t spell things out for the audience. We have to look for the meanings behind the story. Shows that challenge the audience are my favorite types. Rubicon is the type of show that you can watch twice and find things you missed the first time. You can find out more about Rubicon by visiting AMC TV website to view exclusive content from the show. AMC’s newest original drama series “Rubicon” debuts on Sunday, August 1 with a special two-hour premiere from 8–10pm ET.
