Thomas Friends Large Scale Train SetNo one does toy train sets better than Bachmann and now no one does them bigger thanks to the company’s fabulous new Large Scale Thomas & Friends train sets featuring loyal coaches Annie and Clarabel. We were excited to receive a set for review and my six year old loves it. 

Strengths of the set include the size and scale of the tracks and the cars, which have lots of storage space to hold items.  Additionally, the train set was extremely simple to set up.  It takes less than ten minutes once you have all the pieces out and ready.  The track is run electronically with a simple connection to the track from the power outlet.  Plus, the Thomas & Friends theme is unmatched for my son and others his age.

We like train sets and have experienced several different styles, brand, shapes and sizes.  Though Bachmann stands alone for quality, we have had a bit of trouble keeping the trains on the track simply because of the sharp turns in the track.  This seems to be due to fewer straight pieces in the base set of 14 tracks.  However, this is a small-scale issue compared to the overall quality of the set and the fun factor.
