If you’re familiar with our site and/or my reviews you might remember that I do love a book that delves into the idea of Time Travel. Just the thought of it is fascinating. The Butterfly effect and all that good stuff. So just a thought here but what if you went back in time and killed your parents before you were born? Would you cease to exist? But I digress here I think…

Time Trave; This book Traveller Inceptio is one of those books you can’t or maybe don’t want to put down. If there is one thing I did not like about this book it’s that it ended. There is so much more to see in this story. So many directions the author can go.I WANT MORE! Luckily this is Book one in this new series as in INCEPTIO .

So what happens here is, a group of college student are working for a large company in Australia are given the task of creating a security system (as in Airport security). BUT! As happens sometimes something goes very wrong and wires literally get crossed. Thinking they have a finished product they Scan a suitcase to test the system to see if they can actually determine it’s contents. *POOF* it vanishes, gone.

The story I thought was put together very well. It actually starts with a man stumbling into a forest trying to grasp his surroundings. You see he is quite capable after he fights off a pack of wolves with a couple of  swords Next chapter is to the college kids trying to figure out what they created. All the characters are great with there own personalities. The story continues back and forth like this.

Through a little trail and error they realize they have invented a Time Machine. The thing is ,it will only go back exactly 1,000 years to the spot that it sits at. They can’t keep their discovery secret  so next thing you know the Governments of Australia,The U.S,U.K and Canada get involved. From here a good story gets even better. When it’s decided to send a group of highly trained Special Forces men back to Saxon England.

I will not give anymore of the story away only to say this is a fantastic book.431 pages of great writing, fun and interesting characters. Excellent history lessons. If you liked the History Channel’s Vikings you will no doubt love this book I think I understood this book a little better because I watched that show. —->Time Travel is COOL.

Traveller-Inceptio is a gentle Sci-Fi that blends the genres of Historical Fiction and Action / Adventure, with a dash of Romance thrown in.
