Top 10 kids movies based on books

Psychologists have found out that watching quality movies may have a lot of positive effects on kids. First of all, movies include a lot of new information for kids and thus serve as a source of knowledge, secondly, they develop kid’s attitude: kids start to distinguish between good and evil, start to support this or that hero. Meanwhile, while watching movies kids get positive emotions,  develop their imagination and way of thinking.Nevertheless, however important are these impacts on kids’ development, it is often too hard to find a quality movie that is free of violent scenes and will not leave other negative impacts. 1.       Beauty and the Beast

2.      The Little Mermaid

Based on: “The Little Mermaid and Other Fairy Tales”  by Hans Christian Andersen

The little mermaid Ariel, the youngest of the seven daughters of the sea king of Triton, was always different from her sisters, and the rest of the inhabitants of the ocean.

She always dreamed of people and wished she knew how it feels like walking on land, wear clothes, eat dinner at table.

Once she sees and falls in love with a human prince and this makes him made a contract with sea witch Ursula to become a human for 3 days.

3.      Peter Pan

Based on: “Peter Pan” by J.M. Barrie

The main character of this movie is Peter pan, a boy he refuses to grow up. In the beginning of the movie Wendy and her brothers receive a visit from Peter Pan, who was the hero of their favorite stories and the latter takes them to a magical island, where  Peter’s gang of rag-tag runaways is in  a continuous war with the forces of  the evil Pirate Captain Hook.

4.      The Sleeping Beauty  

Based on: “The Sleeping Beauty”  by Charles Perrault

On the event of the birth of beautiful princess Aurora, everybody in royalty get excited and gathers to exchange gifts. Soon, Magnifient, an unwanted guest appears and curses Aurora saying that she will fall fast asleep on the evening of her 16th birthday and only the tears of her true love would help…

5.       Pinocchio

Based on: “Pinocchio” by Carlo Collodi

Gepetto creates a marionette named Pinocchio and seeing a falling star makes a wish that he was a real boy. A kind fairy fulfills her wish and grants life to Pinocchio. Later Pinocchio appears in many troubles and adventures.

6.    Matilda

Matilda Wormwood is a sweet and kind girl in contrast to her mean brother and parents. When she turns 6, she is sent a school with a cruel principal but a caring teacher and many good friends. Gradually she gets fed up with the cruelty she witnesses every day and starts to discover her telekinetic powers.

7.      Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Based on: “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” by Wanda Gág

Long, long ago in a kingdom lived kindhearted princess Snow White who was loved by everyone except for her cruel stepmother. And when the Magic Mirror of the stepmother claims Snow White to be the Fairest one, everything goes even  worse. Eventually, she is obliged to flee in the forest where he befriends 7 dwarves. And after  she eat an enchanted apple upon a trick made by the queen the only possibility of being saved becomes the magic kiss of a true lover.

8. The Wizard of Oz

Based on: “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum

Because of a tornado, Dorothy and her dog Toto are whisked to the land of Oz. The only thing that he wants is to return home, so he takes the brick road and eventually appear in Emerald City. Here he meets many memorable and interesting friends and finally the wizard of Oz, who is said to be able to help them out of the situation. But in order to grant his help the wizard requests a favor…

9. Alice in the Wonderland

Based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll

Alice is a small girl who loves daydreaming and imagining. Once, while following a white Rabbit, Alice falls into the Rabbit hole and appears in the Wonderland. Here a whole world of adventures and magic welcomes her.

10.    Jungle book.

Based on The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling

This one tells about baby Mowgli who is raised by wolves, in the accompany of other jungle animals. When he grows up, Bagheera the wise panther starts to convince  that it would be better for the boy to return to the human civilization. The danger of Khan the tiger who hates all people, as well as the sight of a pretty girl whom Mowgli had seen made him to return to man-village…
