Compatible with the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway, the Thomas Wooden Railway Early Engineers is designed as a starter train set for children 18 months and older. Despite this fact, we had a hard time keeping six year old Nolan from digging into the box and setting it up.
Nolan has always loved train sets and is able to quickly build and play them. This toddler’s set is easy to set up and Nolan can now help his brother, Noah learn to use the set, even though he is a bit on the younger side at 9 1/2 months. Nolan obviously found this set to be a bit less challenging and exciting as some of the other trains, but that is to be expected as it is not made for ‘advanced’ play train engineers like him.
The set comes with the basic engineers station and circular railway that is easily attached to the Thomas & Friends railway so that your child can extend the track and the fun as he gets more familiar with trains.
Key features of the Thomas Wooden Railway Early Engineers set include:
- Easy-to-use locked-in track
- Easy-to-handle engines for small hands
- Compatible with other sets to grow with your child

My son would go nuts over this toy! He probably spends at least an hour a day building and playing with his trains (they aren’t Thomas though!)
