The 5,000 Friends of Veronica Veetch

A Picture book by Jean Hanson

                                        with Illustrations by Launie Parry

The 5,000 Friends of Veronica Veetch is a  fun , magical Seussical adventure .Written in a rhyming style that would make the top-hatted cat proud,Jean Hanson has created something with a powerful message that can teach kids the value and importance of books, reading and the adventures and enjoyment possible through literature.

Veronica Veetch   Every now and then I come upon a children’s book that really impresses. The 5,000 Friends of Veronica Veetch is just that. The  message about the power and enjoyment of reading was  probably the author’s main focus and theme of the book. But there is another very good lesson here and that is don’t jump to conclusions about people. Maybe just maybe you should get to know someone before you make a judgement about them.

  1. Besides the awesomeness of the messages this book has to offer  two more things I like is the writing style which reminds me of all the Dr Seuss books I’ve enjoyed in the past .Then of course the very nice and colorful illustrations by Launie Parry. In a picture book like this I feel it’s so important for the illustrations to bring the story to life. That’s exactly what Launie did . This is a beautiful hard cover book that kids and parent will love.A great one to read to young kids with it’s easy flowing rhyme.
