AT&T Bluetooth Phone Review

I have been testing out the AT&T DECT 6.0 phone for about a month now and I am thrilled with it. We have to buy a new phone every year, because we usually buy a non name-brand that is on sale to save money. I always wonder if you get what you pay for with brand name phones, such as A T & T, and so far I have been very satisfied with this phone.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION (from website)
The phone is a dual-handset that is the first cordless phone system to combine Bluetooth connectivity with proprietary DECT 6.0 antenna technology. This system allows users to connect a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone to the base unit for making and receiving cellular calls on the home phone system. Taking a cellular call on the home phone system enables users to roam throughout the house with peace-of-mind that calls won’t be dropped or missed due to poor cell phone reception.
MY REVIEW
Setup was easy. Connecting to the cell phone was a matter of pressing the blue tooth button on the AT&T phone, and then telling my cell phone to look for the AT&T phone. The cell phone remains connected to the AT&T phone. It disconnects when I leave the house, and automatically reconnects when I return. I have made several calls and the sound quality has been excellent. It hasn’t dropped the connection(so far.)
Making a cell phone call is just like making a land line call. You just enter the number, or select a number from the internal phone book, and press the “celluar” button. You hear a couple of beeps, the handset connects with the cell phone, and the call is dialed.
I want to make sure you know that you can only connect to one cell phone at a time. If your husband wants to pair his cell for the weekend you would have to do a reconnect, but it isn’t that difficult to do. If you are looking for a blue tooth enable phone to connect two cell phones or more at once, then this phone wouldn’t be the right fit for you.
I think the sleek and smaller design is very comfortable to carry around and use. The volume hasn’t been a problem. It will store missed calls numbers and times and the main base has an answering machine. I have left the phones off of the base for over three days and they have remained charged. The price is very reasonable, especially if it lasts a few years. Hopefully it will. I would highly recommend it.

Get Peeked

I own a simple cell phone and the only thing it does is phone calls and Pacman. I basically bought it for safety reasons for when I am in the car. As a stay at home mom, I don’t really have the need for something fancy (though I wouldn’t mind trying something new) hint to PR reps:) I have found myself needing to keep touch with my e-mails constantly and when I found out about The Peek, I knew that would be the perfect gadget for me.
The Peek is a thin handheld e-mail device that allows you to receive and send e-mails from anywhere. The device feels great, it looks stylish and best of all, is simple to use. It has a full QWERTY keypad and side thumb wheel control. It will also handle up to three email accounts. Best of all, the device is inexpensive: $79.95, plus $19.95 per month for Peek service (paid month-to-month: NO CONTRACT REQUIRED). The Peek is usable throughout the U.S. with full nationwide wireless coverage.
Sending and receiving emails on the Peek is so easy. You just scroll the side thumb wheel control up and down to view your e-mails, click a button to read them, and hit the x to delete them. You can set your Peek to vibrate or ring when you receive new e-mails. You can also send text messages! They recently made it available to tweet on Twitter using your Peek too, which is so cool. I love my Peek and I think it is a great companion to my cell phone.
Remember, The Peek isn’t for everyone. It basically does e-mail, so it’s not for people who are hard core techies and it says so on their website. But it’s a great solution for someone who wants a simple device, or can’t pay for an expensive one. The Peek is available at Target and online at www.GetPeek.com and Amazon.

Lose Weight With Your Blackberry

You know about all of the On-line Weight Loss Programs, but did you know there is a new one that will keep in constant touch with you? Well, in our busy lives we seemingly can’t live without our cell phones or Blackberries and SENSEI.COM will deliver your personalized diet plan directly to your cell phone. Not only that, they give you daily menus with recipes, shopping lists, and fitness plans. How cool is that! I am so excited to get the opportunity to review Sensei! I agreed to review it because it looks like a practical, inexpensive and healthy support system for people who want to eat healthier and lose weight. Especially busy moms like me, who needs all of those aspects.
The sign up was easy to navigate and didn’t take too long, The computer took me through twelve steps where I chose my own weight loss goal, meal plan options, fitness plan, and times of meals. They will then e-mail me my meal plan, and shopping list or deliver it to my mobile phone. There are three terrific meal plan options and you can pick what foods you wouldn’t like to see on your meal plans, which is a huge bonus for me and my picky family. I really like that I could set up a budget meal plan to save costs on the food that I buy from the grocery store. Right now you can sign up for a free seven day trial (no credit card necessary) right along with me and see what you think. I will share my thoughts with you about Sensei after a month, so make sure you check back. If any of you use Sensei or any other on-line weight loss program please leave me your comments. I would love to hear what you think!
Compared to the overall monthly costs of NutriSystem ($492)*; Slim-Fast ($609)*; Weight Watchers ($686/online program)*; and Jenny Craig ($812/center-based or online program),* Sensei for Weight Loss Mediterranean diet meal plan, with the budget-friendly option, costs less than $200 per month (includes food and program costs). **

Not only is Sensei one of the most affordable weight loss programs on the market, it is one of the most nutritious. Sensei’s Healthy Eating Index (the measure of diet quality that assesses conformance to Federal dietary guidelines) score is an astounding 90 out of possible 100, compared to the American median score of 49 and the 69 for the top 10% of American diets.
Sensei’s highly anticipated new platform, released last month, includes the new budget-friendly feature, which automates the creation of healthy, personalized and cost-effective meals. Also new is the “Favorites” function and “My Coupons” tab, featuring users’ local grocer sales conveniently available on the site, and affords them to select and repeat favorite foods and meals for their meals to further leverage savings.
Current subscribers to Sensei, a program that transforms a consumer’s mobile phone and desktop into their own “virtual weight loss coach” (PDC), will notice a newly enhanced Web site that is richer in functionality and easier to navigate. The new program will be priced at $15/month for Web-only access, and $20/month for mobile and Web access.
Sensei for Weight Loss is available on most BlackBerries, as well as on most AT&T and Sprint mobile phones. The program is also now available in the App Store for iPhone and iTouch users. To enroll in Sensei For Weight Loss™ or for additional information, visit www.sensei.com

I wanted to let you know about a great FREE website called COZI that I found out about thanks to MOM CENTRAL. My husband was even psyched about it. Families today are busy–we have so much to keep track of including appointments, play dates, birthday parties, sports and other family activities, not to mention the challenges of coordinating home and work schedules. It can quickly get hectic without a central place to organize, coordinate and keep track of so many important household details. In fact, in a recent survey conducted by Cozi, 40% of the 4,169 households surveyed admitted to using sticky notes to manage their family activities!

Introducing COZI, a FREE web service that helps busy families manage crazy schedules, track shopping and to do lists, organize household chores and stay in communication, all in one easy-to-use solution. Cozi not only provides a shared family calendar, but also includes customized shopping lists, quick messaging tools, mobile phone access and a family journal. With Cozi, busy moms can get shopping lists and schedules on any mobile and everyone one in the family has access to the same information. Cozi even syncs with Outlook. In addition to the ways that moms can get their shopping lists and calendars already on any mobile phone via text message and using our toll free number, Cozi now has a mobile version especially for the iPhone and Windows Mobile phones. Families can now sign-in and access their Cozi account using their mobile web browsers. They can add and edit shopping lists and view and edit their family calendar using the mobile version of Cozi right from their iPhone. This is a new feature! You can learn more about it here
From December 31st, 2008 through February 4th, 2009, everyone who signs up and tries Cozi will also be entered to win a two-day home organization makeover with professional organizer, and incoming NAPO President (National Association of Professional Organizers), Laura Leist. In Laura’s two-day visit, she will makeover either the kitchen or home office in one lucky winners’ home; a service with a retail value of $5,000.
What are you waiting for? Go check it out, it’s easy to use, helps you keep your schedule organized and it’s FREE.
