Do you remember your teacher using a chalkboard and chalk or that big clunky overhead projector that never worked. Those days are over. Now teachers can use Smart Boards. My husband is an instructor at college and he gets to use a Smartboard which is so cool. A Smartboard is a “touch screen” board that functions like a blackboard does, but with the technical capabilities of a computer screen. My husband and I feel we have been blessed with the wonderful teachers our son has had so far. We have more of a challenge because of his Autism diagnosis, so he needs a teacher who understands what works with him. He is in a regular classroom, and also takes other classes. His kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Seybert, has been amazing with him. She understands him and advocated for him at our IEP meeting. She wanted to make sure he gets his needs and challenges met for next year. Nolan truly adores her and was very sad at the thought of her not being his teacher again.
