A Time Travel Adventure
While fifth-grader Sid Cooper prepares for the regional history bowl, he visits the enchanted land of India . He can’t wait to see the Taj Mahal with his newfound local friend Raj Verma. After Sid makes a simple mistake, he and Raj magically end up in the last place they expected… centuries back in time.
Sid and Raj are still excited to see the Taj Mahal . Except for the fact that it’s still being built. To make things even crazier, they literally have to save history as they realize that it’s up to them that the Taj Mahal even gets completed in the first place. As they interact with real people they’d only read about in history books, they eagerly continue their quest — but there’s just one problem. Even if Sid and Raj succeed and ensure that the Taj Mahal gets built, how will they get back to the 21st Century?
In Missing Gems of the Taj Mahal, author Lyndon Cerejo transports you on a magical journey. The sights and sounds of ancient India come alive in a beautiful tapestry that both educates and entertains. Young readers can follow along as Sid and Raj try to save history – and themselves – while learning all about the history of the Taj Mahal and the events that made India what it is today.
And to make the journey come alive, Missing Gems of the Taj Mahal contains fascinating photographs, and is beautifully illustrated by fifth-grader Ananya Chopra. She’s a lot like Sid – friendly, adventurous, and unwilling to let anything stop her from pursuing her dreams.
Your young child will feel the same way after reading this book. And as the first book in the Mysteries in History series, they can learn about the Taj Mahal and one of the oldest civilizations on Earth before taking a journey across the globe in future books. So let your child open their minds and their hearts to this exciting tale… as a magical land of adventure awaits.
