Noah, nine months old, has been very blanket-obsessed since he started using them for naps and sleep a few months ago. All babies are too some extent, but he has been much moreso than my other two. He loves to cuddle to a blanket to fall asleep. We lay him down, hand him a blankie, and he immediately rolls over on his side to sleep.
We were excited when Mākaboo, a new website for classic and fine quality personalized baby gifts, inquired about a review of their Angel Dear Monkey Blanket.
We enjoy seeing our kids names on things so jumped at the chance. We received a brown, soft blankie with Noah personalized on one corner and a cute little monkey’s head on the other. This blankie has really been Noah’s favorite ever since we received it. He likes to sit with it and play around with the monkey’s head along with laying down with it.
The blanket is a bit pricy with a total cost around $42, including the personalization, but combining the quality of the fabric, the cost to personalize anything for babies, and the shipping, this is fairly reasonable. And, you can give your little one a treasure while he is a baby and something he can pass on to his kids.

Shoppers get to design their own gifts and see exactly what they’ll look like before they click buy. Moms and gift buyers also have the option of embroidering any of Mākaboo’s 54 playful icons-from a teddy bear, chickadee and cub to a baby monkey, kitten and ladybug. Mākaboo was launched by St. Louis native, Cindy Teasdale McGowan, in late 2009. With 23 nieces and nephews and a career in web development at Snapfish, among other reputable companies, McGowan wanted to: create a site that carried recognized brands known for their timeless simplicity; make personalization an easy “click of the mouse” process allowing consumers to see exactly what they are getting before purchasing; and add a bit of whimsy to the personalization experience by designing a new imaginative Mākaboo icon every few weeks.
“I always wanted to purchase special and unique baby gifts, but the only sites I could find looked unreliable and I could never tell what the quality of the products or embroidery would be,” says McGowan. “I was working on photo presents at Snapfish, where people could use their pictures to create a heart-felt gift, and one day it just clicked. Our business model is to offer the lines moms already know and love; to include embroidery and darling packaging in our cost; and to give you a fun, engaging experience online that you won’t find at other major retailers.”

For personalization, gift-buyers can select and view in real-time font, embroidery, color and placement of the baby name or Mākaboo icon. What Mākaboo customers see on their computer screens is what they get at delivery.
