“What a trip!” “It’s Your World Now!” is a picture book about a parent and a child on a walk to share some lessons and ideas on how to live life. This is a story of having and making choices. There are three lessons that we all need to learn and try to remember as we go up.

its your world nowBarry Falls has written a children’s picture book full of pictures that tell the story in a very vivid way. Through the use of light and dark colors he has successfully showed all the emotions or at least close to all the emotions to what a parent feels about raising children in today’s world. Teachers and parents could use this picture book to talk about the choices they have made and the choices the kids are having now to make in living their lives at any age.

My favorite pictures were the first when parent and child started their walk followed by the pictures describing nature and dreams of the parent; then the picture when the parent had a realization of what is happening. All the pictures and words flow as they are written as poems to describe the pictures in a clear way. This is a picture book of wishes that at any one age we all have to make.

Book Summary

A beautiful, lyrical and funny celebration of the world and the potential of every individual within it. This is the perfect book to read to children to help them appreciate the wonderful things that exist in the world, and the wonderful things that they can do, as well as allowing them to understand some of the setbacks that may happen. And in the end, whatever happens, the child is reassured that their parents will always love them.
