There is nothing like a dog to make a person and that dog feel better about themselves. No matter what is going on in one’s life. This is the story of a dog named Everest Peters and how he came to live with his ‘furever‘ parents. The story starts with Everest describing his new parents life before and what his was like in the past. The story goes on describing Everest’s day from getting groomed to playing in the park and where he likes to sleep. Everest has other names (nicknames) as the story progresses the reader will find out these names and even count them, as he shares all that he enjoys.
Rosanne has written a children’s picture book about her cock-a-poo Everest using realistic photographs throughout the story. As the title suggests ‘How Many Names Do I Have?’ is an apt title for this little picture book. As the reader I found myself counting the names. All the pictures were very cute, but my favorite was the picture of Everest in the bike basket. This picture book would good for a preschool or even a kindergarten classroom teacher to read out loud and to see if the children can count the number of names that Everest has and try to remember the names as well. Another question the teacher could ask the class is which name is his favorite. For the teacher this is a good book that involves listening and speaking skills. As the reader I am a dog person and at one time I had a cock-a-poo named Misty and now I have a beagle mix named Pokey.
