Do you have a difficult time finding movies the entire family can watch? We are very picky about how much television our children watch and what they watch. We try to have a family movie night every week. The kids enjoy making popcorn and settling in for a movie. We usually have a hard time finding quality family movies. Even most of the big movies at the theatre seem to have questionable material. I wish they would take out more of the scary stuff too. We like to watch movies that have teachable moments for discussion. I am thrilled that movies like “Truth be Told” are available. Truth Be Told is a quality family movie that teaches an important life lesson.
ABOUT THE MOVIE
I was a fan of Growing Pains growing up and happy to see that Candace Cameron Bure plays the lead character, Annie. She looks amazing and is still adorable. The movie also stars David James Elliot as Mark Crane, best known from the television show Jag. He is nice to look at too.
Annie conspires with Mark Crane, an old college friend, recent widower, and father of two teenagers, to pose as a married couple for the weekend. A series of comical misunderstandings color the trip, leaving Annie emotionally involved with Mark’s family and battling with her own conscience. As the entertaining and touching story unfolds, Annie begins to realize that the truth may have its consequences, but ultimately it’s what opens our hearts and brings out the best in each other.
I thought the acting was great and the storyline is cute. You can see where the movie is heading, but the lesson is an important subject and would be a good teachable moment for parents and their children. There aren’t very many movies that can say that. Oh yeah, look for cameos from American Idol” Season Eight finalist, Danny Gokey, and our families favorite quarterback, Kurt Warner!
The premiere of “Truth Be Told” is on Saturday, April 16th on FOX at 8pm/7ct. Make sure to visit the Family Movie Night “Truth Be Told” website and Facebook page. They are having a big contest to win a LCD Television on their Facebook page!
