diaperI have never used a diaper pail until now. My husband is just too cheap to buy one (he would admit to that),  but I always really wanted one.  With our previous children our diaper pail was a trash bag  by the back door, and animals would get into it and the next morning our backyard would be covered with torn diapers. Gross!   Now we have our last baby and he is eight months old.   I was selected by Mom Central (love them!) to test TWO diaper pails and compare them, I was beyond excited. Yes, over diaper pails, you can make fun of me if you want. These are the diaper pails I am testing.

Arm and Hammer Diaper Pail by Munchkin(website product description)

munchkin diaper pail

The design team at Munchkin has partnered with Arm & HammerTM to create the new Arm & HammerTM Diaper Pail, designed specifically with mom in mind. Bags are easy to load, and tossing dirty diapers is quick and easy. The patented self-sealing system tightly seals the bag and locks odors away, while the Arm & Hammer® baking soda cartridge safely absorbs odors and dispenses natural baking soda each time the lid is closed. A full cartridge lasts over 90 days, and refilling is simple (no need for a separate deodorizer). Each bag holds up to 25 diapers and is easy to snap, seal and toss when full.

The pail comes fully assembled and includes 3 Arm & Hammer® Diaper Pail Refill Bags. The odor-eliminating power of Arm & Hammer® baking soda combined with this clever and easy-to-use design make The Arm & HammerTM Diaper Pail by Munchkin® the perfect diaper pail system for today’s busy parents and caregivers

Diaper Genie Elite (website product description)

The Diaper Genie® Disposal System has all the requirements moms need when it comes to diaper pails:

  • Patent pending double-locked pail design and multi-layer refill seals in odor and germs
  • Antimicrobial protection inhibits odor-causing bacteria
  • Diapers only touch refill film, not the pail, so no messy residue is left behind
  • Foot pedal allows for easy, hands-free opening
  • Ergonomic, no need to bend down
  • Made in the USA

I am learning what I like and don’t like about each one and I do have a favorite.  I will reveal the results of my month long test next week.   You can purchase both diaper pails at stores everywhere including Target, Baby’s R Us and Amazon.  Do you or have you used either of these diaper pails?  I would love to hear about your favorite and why.

I am a member of the Mom Central community and I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central, sponsored by Diaper Genie, and received a free Diaper Genie diaper pail and a free Munchkin Arm & Hammer diaper pail to facilitate my review.”
