Picture the Breakfast Club kids at a boarding school and you have the cast of characters from Prep.  Prep is set at a boarding school called Ault School in Massachusetts.  Lee Fiora, the main character, is there on a scholarship, which means she doesn’t have any money and is surrounded by rich snobby teens.  Lee is ashamed of her life in Indiana and going away to a boarding school is her way of getting away from it.  I found Lee hard to like, but that became her appeal.  Lee felt like a real flawed teen, insecure and socially inept, with a crush on the school heartthrob, Cross Sugarman. The relationship that she has rings painfully true and mirrors the lengths that teenage girls will go to for what they think is love.  This may be a book about teenagers but it is definitely for adults.
