Add Tabasco Original Red to your Superbowl Party
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.
Are you ready for Super Bowl Sunday? When I think about that day, I think about FOOD! We usually have people over and I like to provide tasty food for our guests. We always seem to get pizza. One popular trend lately is adding Tabasco sauce to your pizza. TABASCO® Original Red is the best kind to start with. If you are thinking that sounds terrible, you really should try it.
I'm not a big fan of hot and spicy food but Tabasco's Original Red is not about heat for heat’s sake. It’s about what heat does to the flavor of food. The simple combination of salt, red pepper, and vinegar produces a hot sauce that brings the most out of your food. Other hot sauces add their own specific flavor to food. Tabasco Original Red simply enhances the flavor of food.
Original Red was the first sauce introduced by the McIlhenny family back in 1868 and continues to be their most popular sauce of 6 total sauces. The Tabasco website is a wealth of information. They have a ton of fabulous recipes on theGame-Day Party Menu and even a Pizza Perfected page! The Pizza page includes recipes for a variety of kinds of pizza such as “Fresh Basil Pizza” and “4 or More Cheese Pizza.” Yum! I am going to make the Spicy Spinach and Artichoke Dip I found from the recipe page. I included the recipe below. It sounds so good. I will let you know how it was. Don't forget to print off the coupon and save some money. Do you put Tabasco sauce on your pizza? We would love to hear about it!
Spicy Spinach and Artichoke Dip
-
1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick)
-
1 medium onion, chopped (1 cup)
-
2 (10-ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
-
1 (14-ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
-
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
-
1 (8-ounce) carton sour cream
-
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided
-
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
-
Salt to taste
-
Toasted pita bread wedges
-
1 medium tomato, chopped (1 cup)
Melt butter in a large saucepan or skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in spinach, artichokes, cream cheese, sour cream, 3/4 cup of the Monterey Jack cheese, 3/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese, TABASCO® Sauce and salt. Stir until well blended and heated through.
Pour mixture into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish and top with remaining 1/4 cup Monterey Jack and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Bake in a 350°F oven until cheese starts to brown, about 10 minutes. Serve with pita bread and garnish with tomatoes.
Makes about 4 cups.
