God Bless You Dew!

I just heard the news about our dear friend Dewey.  Dewey was a book blogger-The Hidden Side of the Leaf,  in our community and she passed away last week.  She was an inspiration to me because she was not only a prolific reader and blogger, but a lovely and giving person who valued community.  She managed to bring us together every week whether with Weekly Geeks, Book Carnivals and The 24 Hour Read -a -Thon.  None of us knew how sick she really was, another testament to her strength.  I found myself reading her personal blog, as a way to say goodbye and found a beautiful post she made last June.  She briefly mentioned her health problems, but she was conquering it and trying to stay healthy.  It struck me when I read a beautiful quote from Dewey from that post, “Time is a wonderful gift.  When you have it, everything becomes more mindful and pleasurable.”   This is how we should live and I thank you Dew for reminding me of that today.  When I read on Amy’s blog about Dewey’s passing,  I was instantly upset and cried.  I cried for her son, for her husband, for her family, and for the fact that I need to remember to live my life to the fullest every day.    I had to go get my children from school right then, and was still upset as I was driving.   This song came on the radio and I was instantly comforted by the lyrics ” Jesus conquered the grave.”   I believe in more than this life here on earth.  I believe in Jesus.  We are only here for such a short time.  The song is Mighty To Save and the lyrics and video are below.  God Bless you Dewey.  You will be missed.
