Just another book equating Wicca with Satanism. That's kind of funny, as Wiccans don't believe in Satan. The reason so many young people (mostly women, in fact) are flocking to Wicca and other NeoPagan religions is not TV. It has more to do with the fact that Wiccans hold the Goddess as sacred, women can rise to highest rank in the movement and equality of the sexes is accepted, they worship the earth and respect the environment, think sex and birth control are ok, and believe in the right to choose. Wicca is the antithesis of patriarchal authoritarian religions. I realize such factors put the fear of God in the intended audience of this book. I guess propaganda is comforting to some people, alas.

Wicca is the safest religion in the world. No one has ever been killed in the name of the Wiccan religion. It's all worshiping your planet and it's animals. Litter and bad thoughts at anyone are a "sin". I sincerly hope there will be that many people practicing one day because the way earth is today, it might not last too much longer on its own.
