Oh My Goodness! Look What I Got!

I was amazed and humbled to find out I was nominated for this lovely award today from Julie from Booking Mama and Alea from Pop Culture Junkie. First, I must say I love visiting both of your blogs daily and truly appreciate your support of mine! Julie and I share similar tastes in books and she writes AMAZING reviews and Alea is an all around sweetheart with an AWESOME pop culture filled blog and we share a mutual obsession of So You Think You Can Dance. So if they aren’t on your google reader I really encourage you to visit them! The BEST thing about this nomination, besides bragging about it to my hubby, is I get to nominate more blogs! While I am on the subject of blogs I want to say something about this community of book bloggers. First of all what a generous group! I have noticed about every blog is giving away books and not just once, alot of bloggers give away books every week! The other thing I noticed is how kind to each other this community is, they often mention other book blogs in their posts either as having reviewed the same book or just pointing out to visit another blogger. Also amazing! They go around commenting on each others blogs and I have never received an unkind comment, only lovely ones about my reviews or my posts. These are the reasons I keep up with my blog. So on to the nominations:
Here are the guidelines: Once an award is received, the rules are as follows:
1. Put the logo on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded you.
3. Nominate at least seven other blogs.
4. Add links to those blogs on your blog.
5. Leave a message for your nominee on their blog.
These are the blogs on my daily reader along with many others! I read and love so many blogs that these are just a few of them. And I may go over seven.
Kbookreviews.wordpress.com Kathleen has great book recommendation, author interviews and book giveaways. An all around fantastic blog. Her recent fight over plagiarism is admirable when she discovered Edson.Finacial.group was using not only her reviews but many others on E bay. She contacted the other reviewers and took to her blog to fight it. Way to go Kathleen!
Books on the Brain Lisa’s blog celebrates book clubs. She invites others to guest post about their book clubs including many authors. Her blog is fun to read because of her sense of humor and is a wealth of information plus she is an all around nice lady!
She Is Too Fond of Books Dawn writes insightful reviews, has author interviews, and includes her children in her book reviews. She takes the time to answer her comments and seems like a lovely woman. I just love reading her blog!
Lori’s Reading Corner Lori is an amazingly generous blogger. I found the Pay It Forward book giveaway through her. She is also a a sweetheart, I have noticed she will go out of her way to get a certain book that someone is looking for. She even did that for me one time!
Book Club Girl Jen celebrates book clubs also. She has podcasts with great interviews with authors and beforehand gives away copies of the books so readers will have a chance to read the book and call in to chat with the author. How cool is that! I found her through Julie at Booking Mama. A Fantastic blog!
The Story Siren Kristi celebrates YA books and like me loves them but is not a teen. Her blog is full of great reviews, author interviews and giveaways all for YA books. She is also wonderfully sweet. I e-mailed her that I loved one of her ideas and wanted to basically steal it with her permission and she replied she was flattered and to go ahead. See what I mean, a sweetie!
And since I love books and authors I wanted to award some of my favorite author blogs:
The Debutante Ball This is a grog (group blog, I didn’t even know that word until I found this blog) of women authors. The Debutante Ball was founded in 2006 by a group of six authors whose debut novels were scheduled for publication in 2007. Eileen Cook, Tish Cohen, Anna David, Kristy Kiernan, Mia King, and Jennifer McMahon banded together to support each other during this exciting time, and to connect with readers as well as other writers who were curious about the road leading to publication. They now rotate every year with different authors. I have contacted some of them about reviewing their books and was met with such kindness I was overwhelmed. And their grog is hilarious! My favorite week was when they listed and talked about what was in their purses! The authors grogging right now are Danielle Younge-Ullman, Eileen Cook, Gail Konop Baker, Jenny Gardiner, Jess Riley, and Lisa Daily. It’s a great way to discover new books and authors as well as have a laugh.
Scobberlotch Well first off the name of her blog is awesome. If you want to know what it means you must go visit (he he) This is Karen Harrington’s blog and I love it because she participates in the book blogging community and her blogs are just fun to read. She is also a lovely and generous person and her book Janeology is a must read!
Class of 2k8 Is a group of debut Middle-Grade and YA authors. Their books vary widely, from old fashioned fairy tales to edgy urban romances, but they are all first time authors publishing their first novel for children in 2008. They have all banded together for this grog and it is a great way to discover new books and authors! What a great idea and community of support for each other!
